The latest trend in the fashion industry is hair extensions. So how do we go about it? Read on to find out more…
You take a weft it looks like a little curtain of hair attached together at the top and free flowing at the bottom. There are many ways of getting this: Fusion, strand by strand, or pre-tipped hair is a process done strand by strand in small sections.
Clip-ins is the method where clips are sewn on human extension hairs and may be clipped in.
Tape on and seamless is a hot new way on how to put hair extensions. This method is easy to do for you just pull the backing off and apply the hair and adhesive can be added if you want it to last for several months.
Some common ways of doing it is bonding it is the easiest method where you apply bonding glue along the weft on the piece of extension hair. Press and hold with glue at the base of your natural hair that you have horizontally parted to avoid any air bubbles.
For the permanent ones you make corn rows that run around the back of your head and on the crown. These corn rows are done in the middle of your scalp underneath your hairline so you can’t see them. Once the corn rows are done the wefts are sewn to them and then the extensions are blended with natural hair. Once this is done treat them well. Wash, condition and moisturize is your mantra. But do not shampoo hair for 2 days after applying extensions.
It is recommended that you either braid or gather your hair in a soft scrunch when sleeping, swimming or exercising to protect your hair and the extensions and prevent them from tangling. Your extensions should last between 3 and 6 months then you can remove them. All you need is Hair glue dissolver, Wide tooth comb and scissors. For glued-in extensions apply the glue dissolver to the base of the extension until the extension begins to loosen. For sewn-in extensions cut the thread that is sewn into your natural hair and Comb through your hair. Follow up with a shampoo and deep condition. So what are you waiting for add some length to your tresses!
