The Design concept:

In any design, the Layout is the most important aspect of the design. The Layout should achieve the optimum relationships between various elements, activities, services, aesthetics, comfort, space utilization andbranding & visual merchandizing.

The plan has four distinct zones.

  1. Reception Area
  2. Gents Area
  3. Ladies Area
  4. Services

Carpet area is 2200 square feet.

The zones are distinctly segregated from each other but not by walls or solid partitions but by variouselements like retail displays, Color Bar and art work.

The Reception area consists of a POS, Sofas, Logo wall and Retail display cabinets.6

On the right side of the reception and behind the Retail display area is the Gents area consisting of styling chairs, shampoo stations, pedicure chair and a color bar. Further to this zone is a treatment room with attached steam & shower room.

The Ladies area is behind the Logo wall and segregated from the Gents area by a color bar & a visual merchandizing display area. It has styling chairs, shampoo stations, pedicure chair and makeup area. Further to this zone are the four treatment rooms, one of which has an attached steam & shower room.

The service zone consists of a Counseling room, a product dispatch room, Pantry and staff room.IMG_0060

The client wanted to have a design theme based on minimalistic interiors with raw industrial ambience. So we decided not to have any false ceiling and to keep all the electrical conduits, exhaust pipes, AC pipes, cable trays etc. visible. For walls and partitions we chose finishes like exposed brick, unpolished stone, junk wood and wall paper in rustic wooden look.  Faded leather has been used for the upholstery of furniture.

To bring some art in the middle of very industrial ambience, the retail displays and the Color Bar have been designed in rectangular geometric pattern while the partition screen has been designed on Mondrian pattern.

Work lights & Spot lights are LEDs fixed on either track or cable trays. Suspended light fixtures of industrial type have been used for ambient lighting.
