Today, increase in consciousness among youth and baby boomers to look glamorous and chic has surely raised the competition level among the wellness and beauty brands in the market. Drawing an analytical sketch, the Indian wellness industry was estimated approx Rs 85, 000 crore in FY 2014-15 and is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 12% in the next 5 years. More so, according to a recent report by FICCI and EY, the industry has a potential to achieve about Rs 1.5 trillion by FY20. Observing the wellness and preventive health care sector to double up by 2020, some sub sectors will outperform others. On one hand beauty and nutritional care would maintain their share, fitness and rejuvenation would noticeably increase their market share.
