Coty Inc. announced that it has completed the merger of The Procter & Gamble Company’s fine fragrance, color cosmetics, salon professional and hair color and certain styling businesses (“P&G Specialty Beauty Business”) into Coty.  Coty is now the third-largest beauty company in the world, with approximately $9 billion in revenue.  As a combined company, Coty will also hold the number one position in fragrances, and number two and three positions in salon hair and color cosmetics, respectively.

The merger of the business has been a perfect fit and is on track as we expected. Coty will now have a strong portfolio to win with all the consumers globally.

What has been your experience with the Industry so far?

The experience with the salon industry has been amazing to say the least . It has been a strong learning ground to see the role of hairdresser in the entire value chain. The industry continues to grow in India and will accelerate in time to come with more consumer going to salons to avail professional services.

 Your view onthe Professional Color cosmetics in India

 With higher disposable income , more and more women joining working force, influencer leading the penetration of products , the professional color segment will grow strongly in India . The penetration currently in single digits should move to strong double digits Very soon .

What are the plans for Wella and the other line of professional products?wella-elements-BNI

 Wella would like to serve all consumers needs in India by getting the globally best and consumer meaningful innovation/products to India. India will become the 4th biggest beauty market by 2025 and Wella will like to play an important role in shaping the same.

We will continue to provide consumer relevant products which will attract the TA.

The future plan will continue to focus on elevating the industry by building stylist capability and providing consumer meaningful proposition for Indian consumers.
